Mouse & Keyboard and Mouse & Keyboard and ...

When I saw the Daily Shoot assignment for the day was Make a photograph that features repetition., I immediately thought of the repeating computers, keyboard, mice, etc. in the lab.

What's Wrong With This Picture?

Today I virtually attended the EduCon2.3 session What's Wrong With This Picture? led by Dean Shareski & Darren Kuropatwa. During the session, attendees were charged with telling a lie with a picture or movie.

I failed at this completely with my DSLR. I could not get both my fingers & the palm tree in focus at the same time - not even close!
What's Wrong With This Picture Fail!
So, I tried it with my iPod Touch instead and wasn't thrilled with this one either. I'm never quite sure of the framing in the Hipstamatic app and this would be better if it were cropped. Oh well, I tried and I need a photo for the day, so this is it. Now I need to figure out how to really do this!

EduCon - Can't Be There? Attend Virtually!

Today’s Daily Shoot assignment was Make a photograph that illustrates an aspect of communication.

I am spending much of the weekend virtually attending an education conference being held in Philadelphia. I would love to go to this one in person some day but until then I am so thankful that the sessions are being broadcast live and that many of them have collaborative documents, wikis, etc. to allow participation from those of us not in the physical room.

I took a photo of my screen as I was attending the Crafting Character session and adding my 2¢ to the Google Document for the session and keeping track of the EduCon discussions on Twitter. Now that's communication!

STOP!

Day 28: STOP!, originally uploaded by Visions By Vicky.

Today over at The Daily Shoot the theme was red. Red hot? Red paint? Or something else? You decide.

I looked around and took pictures of red items: Nemo's red toy mouse, part of the mini rose bush, red leaves and the stop sign on the corner. I liked this one best for the theme with the blue sky and fall (uh, winter?) foliage behind the stop sign. You just have to love the stickers, different shades of red and graffiti on the stop sign!

If you're interested in the other photos, you can see them on my Flickr account.

The Curve of the Mouse

Today's Daily Shoot assignment was "Make a photograph that features a very distinct curved line or surface today."

I work around computers all the time and the first thing that popped into my head was the curve of the mouse. So, as I was waiting for the after school basketball game to start, I grabbed my laptop mouse & shot a few pictures and this is the result.
