San Fernando Valley: Looking Toward Warner Center

I drove up to the Top of Topanga Overlook today to take some shots of the Valley. I had decided that I wanted to use a shot of the Valley as my picture today or I'm sure I would have gone with this one instead.

I've decided that I need to head back up to the overlook some night after sunset and get the lights of the Valley sometime.

Week 13: March in Southern California

March in Southern California, originally uploaded by Visions By Vicky.
The sky was so blue, the trees are budding and the wind was blowing the flags; it seemed like a great time for a picture of the school where I teach. Okay, honestly I was actually testing exposure for a photo I was going to take of the Middle School students in this location a few minutes later - but I did like how the shot came out.

I had a hard time choosing what to post this week which is why there are 4 different images here already and here's a bonus shot of a Lemon Tree too. This is actually our neighbor's tree but this branch hangs over in to our yard.

Week 1: Finally fall in Southern California

I failed miserably at posting a photo a day last year so this year I am attempting a photo a week. My first entry was actually taken the last week of December but I really like the colors and sunflare so it's my first choice for 2009!

Day 27 - Another Valley View

Today I'm sharing another one I took yesterday since today I've been busy trying to get ready for classes next week and have had no time to do anything with taking pictures. This was taken looking more to the west and with a higher ISO than the first photo so the sky is brighter to start and I post processed it differently to keep the brighter look. Do you see the black speck in the sky? That's actually a helicopter - if you click on the image and view all sizes you can see it better.

Day 26: Between the Storms

We've been getting a lot of rain the past few days in Southern California. Today we were in between two storm systems so I decided to head up to the Top of Topanga Overlook and take some pictures of the San Fernando Valley. I am not a landscape photographer - my photos never turn out quite how I pictured them but here's an attempt from today that I cropped into a panoramic view.
